As you may have noticed, I’ve not posted a daily sunrise-run blog for quite a while….

There have been a number of reasons for this, however, most of them are just excuses for not wanting to bother getting up and just getting on with it!

I have used this period of lethargy as a test to see if there was anything I could find way (a secret if you like) to make it easier to get up in the morning and “Just Do It” or as my friend Kate Lester puts it in the title of her book “JFDI“!

Turns out that the secret to getting up in the morning is to just decide that you are going to do it and rather frustratingly “JFDI”

This morning, instead of reaching for my phone, I picked up “Man’s Search For Meaning” and amazingly the first paragraph I read was all about how some people in the concentration camps appeared to still find ways to be happy.

Viktor Frankl puts this down to those people allowing themselves to have choices even under the most restrictive of circumstances.

We all have choices about what we do with our lives.

We are all prisoners of our own minds if we allow ourselves to be, we all have struggles, some harder than others, but we ALL have choices. We can all choose to create our own heaven or we can choose to create our own hell (to quote my dutch grandfather (Opa)).As Jack Sparrow says “The problem is not the problem, the problem is your attitude about the problem”

Also as Jack Sparrow says “The problem is not the problem, the problem is your attitude about the problem”

So you have choice and the question is which choice are you going to make, because even not choosing is still a choice.

What are you going to do with your next 5 minutes, will you choose to do something good, something to move you forward in the direction you know you should be going, or will you choose to do the other thing, the thing you know you really shouldn’t be doing?

Will you choose to make today Amazing, or will you choose to make today the same as this time last week?!

The first tweet I did see this morning was from my Twitter friend Cathy Hannam and sums up today’s post rather well don’t you think?
