Are you eating the right food?
Eat good food
- We all know that good food is good for you
- What is good food in this confusing world of dietary advice?
- Lots of colours, fresh food, avoiding anything artificial & less red meat seems to cover most of the best advice.
Always buy cans when they are on 2 for 1 deals, they last forever and its been proved that they are as good as fresh food…. Actually there’s a book on how to cook ridiculously cheap from cans:

If you want to lose weight simply ensure you are eating less calories than you are burning.
While walking the Camino de Santiago in Spain in 2016, I lost 2.5 stone (35Lbs or 15 Kg) over 40 days.
I was walking around 10-15 miles (25km) each day, which equated to about 2500 calories being burnt during the walk.
As a male human (!) I would expect to burn about 2500 calories per day just sitting still (like the way a car uses fuel while the engine is running, even if its not moving anywhere) so with the additional exercise of walking, that means my body was burning around 5000 calories per day, as I was only eating one full meal per day (approximately 3000 calories per day), that meant that my body was burning around 2000 extra calories each day, and the only place it can get this from was to burn my long term fat deposits… One pound of fat is around 3,500 calories, so that means I was burning around one pound of fat every 2 days, so over a 40 day hike, that would be 20Lbs, and I lost 35Lbs, so the maths stacks up approximately, but I was not actually counting my calories and some of the terrain was hilly and I was carrying a 9kg pack (which started off at 16kg!)
